D&WS is a Verve Energy brand name, formed to market the expertise gained over the last two decades with designing, installing and operating wind/diesel and related systems. Verve Energy is the largest generator of electricity in Western Australia, where it operates systems based on coal, gas, oil and renewables.
Verve Energy comes from a background of more than 25 years in the renewable energy area and this, combined with WA's huge land area and remoteness, has meant a unique focus on integrating renewables into difficult grids. Scattered around are historical images of this work which included landfill gas, photovoltaics, hydro and high temperature solar thermal. A range of niche products have resulted from this effort and, realising that these are in demand throughout the world, D&WS has drawn together the expertise required to deliver this to clients.
D&WS has a key project partner, Powercorp Pty Ltd of the Northern Territory of Australia, a relationship which began in 1997. Powercorp are a supplier of key technology and the two companies have forged strong links over many projects and years, with our respective expertise complementing each other well. D&WS is the only supplier of Powercorp technology on wind/diesel systems.
D&WS was formed in June 2003 and operates out of Perth, Western Australia. Our engineers have experience in the utility industry, and specialist knowledge of wind turbine technology and control systems. We also run a number of wind farms and diesel systems, and staff have worked in a variety of climates from freezing conditions in Antarctica to the the balmy tropics.
D&WS offers products and services for grids generally above 250kW in generation capacity and as such we do not normally undertake work in smaller Remote Area Power Systems.
